Details	Eligible Athletes: ages 12- 16 - must be born in 2000-2004 must reside in Zone 5, be a member of Canoe Kayak BC athletes may attend a second BC Summer Games to compete in Train to Train singles events ONLY if, at the first Games, they competed in Learn to Train singles events ONLY. Athletes may not attend more than two BC Summer Games to participate in canoe/kayak Ineligible Athletes: Athletes that have qualified for a single final at the previous year’s National Championship are ineligible to participate in a subsequent BC Summer Games Athletes who have competed in a Western Canada Summer Games or a Canada Summer Games in canoe/kayak are ineligible to compete at a subsequent BC Summer Games Selection Criteria: Every athlete must do a trial in each of the following events: 200 m K1 event 200 m C1 event 1000 m K1 or C1 event (athletes choice) Clubs are responsible for providing boats for their athletes Zone 5 has spots for 8 athletes + potential wildcards to compete at the BC Summer Games. The selection committee will make the final decision based on results, age, development of athletes, gender, and team blend to ensure that all athletes have multiple competitive opportunities at the Games
