Triathlon
Rules:
Team Size – 4 people/team (mixed, male, or female)
Every member of the team completes each of the 3 events together and don’t move on until everyone has finished the previous event.
Final time is established once all members of the team are across the finish line. (Teams can use any style of canoe/kayak for the paddling discipline).

Battle of the Big Boats:
Clubs may create a team of 10 people (where a club doesn’t have sufficient, we will work to provide extras to fill a team)
Each team will then draw a number from a hat to determine the boat that they will be racing in the Battle of the Big Boats event.
For example: Victoria draws a number 4, so they will race in the War Canoe. Nanaimo draws a two, so they will join False Creek (who also drew a two) in the dragon boat. Ridge draws a number one to race in the voyageur and number 3 gets selected by Burnaby, so they will race in the outrigger and their choice of either K4 or C4.
#1 – Voyageur – 1-3 Teams will be chosen for these canoes (based on teams entered)
#2 – Dragon Boat – 2 teams will be used to fill this boat
#3 – Outrigger/ K4 or C4 – 1 Team will be split up into the OC6 and choice of K4 or C4.
#4 – War Canoe – 1 Team

ACCOMMODATION:
Long Lake Inn
We have blocked off 10 rooms with 2 queen sized beds – there is a complimentary breakfast and it is lakeside…so paddlers/parents can either walk 5mins along the shore to the regatta site or launch their boat from the beach/dock at the Inn and paddle across. Please quote CanoeKayak BC for the reduced rate before September 1st by calling 250-758-1144.

We will do our best to accommodate all athletes and coaches that request billeting, but it will be on a first come, first serve basis.

There will be some food onsite for purchase for lunches and snacks. Dinner will be provided - please specify if any of your team is vegetarian or has any food allergies.
